Road traffic, industry, domestic heating, etc. all combine to create ozone, which is dangerous for health when it is in the lower part of the atmosphere. High concentrations of ozone appear during the summer and during very hot spells. Ozone and heatwaves are clearly therefore two closely related phenomena.
The issue of “Ozone and Health” coordination aims to integrate the measures adopted at various levels and to ensure that they are operational, either starting from the environmental, “ozone” issue, or from the “heatwaves” health issue.
